PoD Uber-Smiter Guide by Varkur

Peace, Im Varkur and this is going to be my 1st Guide ever, so i would be very thankful for any type of suggestions to improve this upcoming Guide in the future.

I used to play D2 LoD on Bnet couple years ago and had a Smiter for Ubers back then and also went for a Smiter to do Ubers in PoD(My 1st Season). Even though i was a bit rusty and don´t have any highly God Tier Eq like Last Wish,Grief,CoH i managed to pull Ubers off with a Buddy of mine(Light Sorc/Bowzon) and wanted to share my experience because i theres currently no Smiter Guide on PoD-Wiki and it might be helpful for others or new players, so here we go.

First of all some informations about the Smiter:

1. Smiter´s do not deal that high amount of raw damage,most of their Damage comes from Crushing Blow.

2. You do not! need Godly Eq to pull Ubers off.

3. Smite doesn´t require Attack Rating so you will most likely always hit your Enemies.

4. It´s a simple and kinda cheap Build to get succes in Ubers(Especially when u just started with PoD or on Ladder reset)

5. You will need Lightning Absorb for Diablo due to the fact his DMG got buffed on PoD.

6. This Build is only for Ubers(Including Organ Bosses) and D-Clone!!!

Skill´s and Stat´s

The Skills for a Smiter are very straight forward, nothing too fancy tho :D

a) Combat Skills

1: Smite - MAX(This is our Mainattack and we want to boost up its DMG atleast a bit)

2: Charge - 1 Point

3: Holy Bolt - 1 Point

4: Blessed Hammer - 1 Point

5: Holy Shield - MAX(Holy Shield increases our Defense,Smite DMG and our Blockrate)

b) Offensive Auras

1: Might - 1 Point

2: Blessed Aim - 1 Point

3: Concentration - 1 Point

4: Fanaticism - MAX(This is our Main-Aura we will be using because it increases your Damage and Attack Speed)

c) Defensive Auras

1: Share Points into Resist Lighting and Resist Fire as it will increase youre Max Lightning+Fire Resistance every 2 Points u put into these Skills(Especially Light Res will be good)

2: Salvation - 1 Point(U most likely will use it against Mephisto just to be safe or if youre lacking Resistances a bit because he got Conviction Aura)

3: Prayer,Defiance,Cleansing,Vigor - 1 Point(Our Focus here is on Vigor so we are able to use it for a bit more Movementspeed while running around)

Stats

Strength: You want to have 148 Points so u can use a Vortex Shield(Highest Defense of all Paladin shields + highest Smite Damage)

Dexterity: Go into Hell mode, Cast Holy Shield(MAXED) and watch your Chance to Block, now u want to put as much points into Dex until you reach 75% Chance to Block while Holy Shield is still up!

Vitality: Rest of your Points straight into Vit.

Energy: NOTHING!

Itemization

Helmet: Guillaume´s Face/Kiras Guardian - Kiras is the safer option if u need to stack up Resistances.

Armor: Treachery/Guardian Angel/Duress/Chains of Honor

Gloves: Dracul´s Grasp - For the Lifetap + 25% Open Wounds / Laying of Hands - for Ias and increased DMG to Demons

Boots: Goblin Toe - 25% Crushing Blow / Gore Riders - 15% Crushing Blow + 10% Open Wounds(If you use LoH go for Gore Riders to get that Open Wound)

Belt: Thundergod´s Vigor - U definetly want that Lightning Absorb

Weapon: Lightsabre - 15 % Lightning Absorb + 20 % Ias / Kingslayer / Death / Last Wish

Shield: Paladin Shield(Elite) with 4x PDiamond / Spirit(Paladin Elite Shield) / Exile(Paladin Elite Shield) - Best bases are Sacred Targe/Vortex Shield

Amulet: Cats Eye or Highlords because both give 20% ias. Highlords is better tho because u get +1 Skills and Light Res

Ring 1: Raven Frost - We do want that Cannot be frozen and it also saves you couple Points to reach Maxblock

Ring 2: I highly recommend using a Wisp Protector or you use a Lightsabre+Dwarf star

Charms 1: Paladin Torch - Best Stats u can get/afford

2: Annihilus - Best Stats u can get/afford

3: If u do need them any Res Charms so u will have Max Res

4: If u already got Max Res go for Lifecharms/Skillers

So far this was my Guide for an Uber Smiter, i hope it will help out at least someone who is planning to create an Smiter because i think they´re pretty cool and also kinda easy to Build. Im open to any kind of Criticism(As long it´s well argumented and not pure hate :D)
