The following dungeon areas have been added/changed in Path of Diablo.


What are Maps?

In areas level 85+, an item can drop called a relic. It can be used to open end-game areas called maps. Maps are higher level areas that give more experience and also high level items.

  • Maps have greatly increased monster density and different monster combinations. This may lead to the making of some new builds.


Useful Information:



  • Maps have affixes that can be modified. Maps can be changed into a higher tier.
  • White maps drop in areas level 85+. Yellow and Red maps drop from inside a map.
  • Maps can take 20+ minutes, so check game-time remaining before opening one.
  • Each game can open one map.
  • Currently, there's no guarantee of a relic drop in the Musty Crypt and Desecrated Temple, nor do they have a boss.

Requirements and How to enter a Map

  • Identify map.
  • You need to be in Hell mode with a minimum character level of 80.
  • Done the Ancients (Rite of Passage) quest.
  • To enter a map, the player must place it on the altar in Malah's shop in Harrogath. The map is consumed and makes a red portal to the map.

The Tiers of Maps

This information is still being updated for Zincite


  • The colour of a map indicates its difficulty. White maps should be slightly challenging for a single player. Yellow maps should be a moderate challenge for a few players. Red maps should be a hard challenge for a full party.

How to Modify a Map

  • In the Horadric Cube transmute the map and items:


How to re-roll a map for a chance to get a preferrable set of affixes.

  • 6 Perfect Skulls + map.


How to make a corrupted map:

  • Orb of Corruption + map.


Making a higher tier map:

  • White (or blue) Corrupted map + 3 Perfect Gems. Makes a Yellow map.


Notes:

  • A corrupted map can't have its location or tier changed, except Pleasant Pasture, which can be made into a Yellow map.
  • Corrupted maps can get the +200% Gold and Magic Find affix or change the map completely to a Pleasant Pasture. Best estimate is 3.2% (8 of 250) for corrupting to get the Magic Find and Gold Find affix on Pleasant Pasture.

  • Monsters have 10-20% chance to cast Glacial Spike on death (currently bugged?)
  • Monsters have 20% chance to cast Meteor on death (currently bugged)
  • Monsters have 0-50% lifesteal


  • Monsters have 10-60% chance to cast Amplify Damage on hit
  • Monsters have 10-20% chance to cast Lower Resist on hit
  • Monsters have 10-50% chance to cast Decrepify on hit
  • Monsters have 0-70% Reduced Curse Duration


  • Monsters have 0-278% fire resistance
  • Monsters have +40-232% cold resistance
  • Monsters have +200-339% lightning resistance
