This page is for changes to core systems that don't have a more appropriate page to be mentioned on.

Mechanical Changes

  • Dying in softcore will no longer create a body. Instead you will keep all your gear equipped. This also means the EXP penalty is in full effect 0/5/10% in Normal/Nightmare/Hell respectively.
  • All skills now have their own separate cooldown that doesn't prevent the user from using other skills temporarily.
  • Killing The Cow King will not prevent opening a portal to the Secret Cow Level.
  • Throwing weapons now have durability instead of quantity.
  • Monster resistances can no longer drop below 0%
  • Higher tier Runes now get rarer (per tier) linearly instead of exponentially meaning the highest rune tiers, like Zod, are not impossibly rare for a smaller community.
  • The inventory is expanded and divided into two sections; the bottom section is where charms are activated. Charms held in the top portion won't work.
  • Ranged skills which grant Attack Rating now actually apply correctly, unlike the original game.
  • The distance it takes for all summons to reappear at the player when falling behind, is now shorter.
  • Auras can now be put on left click and it is therefore also possible to run two different auras at the same time.
  • Martial Arts charges are no longer consumed and can only expire. The duration can be refreshed by reusing the corresponding charge-up.
  • Elemental Damage% now correctly applies to all +X-Y Elemental Damage stats on ranged skills. For example +5% Fire Damage did not originally apply to a Strafe attack where the user had +3-6 Fire Damage on a charm.
  • Runes now stay on the ground for longer.
  • Added a new starting skill called 'Move-only' which allows the players to move without accidentally attacking enemies.
  • Auras no longer stack by default except for Holy Shock and Holy Fire from Dream and Dragon/HoJ respectively.
  • Shrines buffs can now be stacked instead of removing the previous one.

Stat Changes

  • Replenish Life values reworked. In the original game, ‘Replenish Life +5’ is actually ‘0.5 life per second’. All Replenish Life values in the game will be increased by 10x and the stat will display the text “per second”. More info.

  • Global chat system introduced to chat with players in other games and other game servers. Type /chat command in-game for details.
  • New chat commands beginning with a hashtag: #roll (a dice), #flip (a coin), #played (char play time), #age (char creation date)
  • Can now create up to 18 characters and fixed the character selection screen menu not having a scrollbar and not being scrollable via mouse-wheel, originally.
  • Game perming now only takes 30 seconds.
  • The message log ('m' hotkey) is no longer wiped when changing games.

Quest Changes

  • Nihlathak's portal will remain open even if the quest is completed.
